Custom Bullet Mold
« on: February 09, 2014, 10:32:51 AM »

I finally had Accurate Molds make me a 5 cavity mold with 3 different designs. The catalog shows weights if cast from WW's, but my designs were created to be cast using pure lead. I'm guessing 5-10% can be added for a closer idea of actual weight.

I'll be reaming my Pietta '58's chambers to .450" or more so that I can share bullets easier with my ROA.

The 195C was designed to take up no more room than a ball, and will drop at .460" OAL. This ought to make a great medium game hunting bullet.

The 285C was designed for hunting critters that may want retribution if not put down immediately. Looking at bullets in the 270-280 grn range that had a similar design were often closer to .700" OAL, and I figured, with the wider meplat, that this would have been ~275 grns.
