help with i.d. 1860 colt army with xtra line in sn#
« on: June 13, 2018, 06:32:11 PM »

hi.. I'm a big ww2 collector but don't know much about the old stuff....
I saw what I believe to be an 1860 colt army.. I thought it was a civilian model as it does not have cartouche on grips or navy scene on cylinder
however it does have the lugs for stock..
Ö  what is throwing me off is the sn.. it has a second line on all places and its a zero or an o...
for example   22562    22562
                        0           0

in all of the sn# places
  its not bubba added..
is this some conversion variation.. but the gun is still in percussion marked 44 cal

I don't have pix at this time

thanks chad

Without pictures we canít really do anything

Civilian 1860ís had the naval cylinder scene what you have could be anything from a Belgian copy to a modern Italian copy. Are the screws metric?

Pictures would go a long ways in determining what you have.

This forum is not very well utilized.  You would get more responses on TheHighRoad/index/blackpowder.org or thefiringline/blackpowder.com
