A Nice Grant 1851
« on: April 29, 2016, 08:41:43 PM »

Just got this one in...unfired, unturned. It's ready for the case and accessories I have for it. As luck would have it, I found another Grant, slightly used (98%), that will be my shooter. Two Colt 1851 Grants in one week...life is good. Now the quest is on to find an 1851 Lee.

Here it is, cased. I added the lead .36 balls and 6 Colt unused nipples. Nice outfit, I think.

If you're going to leave those lead balls in the kit. For looks only, you might consider rubbing them with something that would retard the lead's oxidizing.
