Me too.  I like a round guard and the square cylinder notches with the 'leads'.  Third Mod is my favorite of the Dragoon series. 

sourdough - hey, that wood looks pretty good to me.  It appears oiled and not varnishy.  I like that look.

Interesting. Never seen one.
Neither had I.  Those are really fine pictures.  Very informative.

Until now I had been unaware of this Russian model, this is very informative and of great interest.  The grip shape does look similar to the Colt 1860, but still different in angle, size and shape. Angle of the hammer spur and size of the cylinder stops  also seems different than the American and British versions.
