This revolver is one of a number hand made reproductions by a collector here in Texas.
I recently saw a story on him and it highlighted the fact that he stamped them (terribly IMHO) all over like that so no one would try to pass them off as originals. The featured Colt in the story was a dragoon that looked just as bad.............

Number of reasons I didn't think it was original but the most glaring (to me) is if he stared in 1858 and this is #5 it would have been at least a year before the Confederate States existed yet there is the CS stamp
