More curiosity on my part

I could never be a collector. I cant stand having a gun and not shooting it.Thats why i have ubertis instead of colts.

Shoot about a third of them, collect the rest in unfired NIB condition

I am like Fingers, it depends on the revolver.  Currently I have only one I will not shoot.

It is really something special to encounter a mint, new-in-box, unfired revolver. Sometimes they can be purchased from the next of kin of the deceased owner who never enjoyed firing the gun, and then you can have fun shooting the heck out of it as it was meant for.

I collect and shoot all kinds of firearms. The only one I never shoot is a pristine 1941 P08 Luger that's too valuable. Fortunately my other Luger is for fun!

I collect the 2nd Generation and 3rd generation Colts and put them in glass topped display cases. I would enjoy shooting them but their age and the lack of spare parts in case something happens leaves me kind of hesitant. Another reason I don't shoot them is the newer revolvers are convertible with the Kirst or R&D cylinders and that makes them more adaptable plus there are plenty of spare parts for them as they are still in production. There are just way to many advantages of buying the newer revolvers and leaving the older Colts for display.

I wouldn't call myself a collector even though I have 11 percussion revolvers. All of them are reproductions. I shoot all of them and none of them are so valuable or rare that I would consider letting them remain unfired while in my possesion.

I have eleven, Uberti made, Cap and Ball revolvers right now, with three more on the way. I found two Uberti made Third Model Dragoons and a 1849 pocket revolver, with a loading lever, at a web-site in Wisconsin. There are a few more I would like to get right away. But for some reason, everybody, everywhere is out of stock, on Uberti made Cap and Ball revolvers.

Are they really selling that many, or is Uberti just slow in their production. I wish I knew.

Buffalo Arms has been out of stock, but accepting back orders, for the last several months.

I also have two second generation Colt Cap and Ball revolvers, an 1851 Navy and an 1861 Navy, which have never been fired or rotated. These are cased revolvers.

I have a video project in mind, if I get the opportunity to do it.
